Independent Medical Examination (IME)
Generally administered when an employee has been off work for a period of greater than 12 weeks and there is a dispute in the rehabilitation process. Evaluation results are provided in clear and defensible commentary on the impact of injuries on activities of daily living, as well as, work demands and the client’s ability to return to work.
Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE)
An objective assessment of the functional abilities and limitations of the worker to determine their ability to meet their job demands. A Functional Capacity Evaluation focuses on the major physical tolerance abilities related to musculoskeletal strength, endurance, speed, and flexibility. The evaluations simultaneously gather data regarding consistency of effort and employability.
Marine (Seafarer) Medical Examination
Certified marine medical examiners can provider mariners with pre-employment, periodic, or return-to-work examinations in accordance with Transport Canada regulations.
Pre-Placement Medical Assessments
Determine whether an employee meets job demands especially in positions where safety is imperative. Helps establish a baseline for potential claims and are known to reduce direct and indirect costs associated with injury or illness. TriMedical assists organizations to improve workplace safety and reduce lost-time incidents by helping employers effectively place the right person in the right job.
Periodic Medical Assessments
Help maintain the long-term health of valued employees, particularly those who may be exposed to harmful substances or hazardous working conditions. Periodic Health Assessments are completed on an annual basis and results are compared to recognize and identify any health concerns. Our health monitoring is an effective way to prevent injury and disability, while having a positive effect on employee heath, wellness and productivity.
Exit Medical Assessments
Provide assurance that an employees’ health has not been affected during their employment. Results can be compared with Pre-Placement Medical Assessments or Periodic Medical Assessments to determine if there has been deterioration in their health during their employment.
Return to Work Assessments
Help minimize the costs associated with an employee's injury with a well-developed return-to-work program. After a detailed assessment, a report outlining occupational limitations and restrictions is provided to the employer.
Drivers Medical Examinations
Class 1 to 4 drivers and those with an industrial licence endorsement are required to be examined at regular intervals. The examination and report is completed by our physician and submitted to the Motor Vehicle Branch.
